Sharjah 24: Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club organised the World Osteoporosis Day event in cooperation with Friends of Arthritis Patients, as part of celebrating global days in line with the club vision aiming at communicating with the community, raising awareness of members and working to launch joint preventive programmes.
The event was held at the club's headquarters in the city of Al Dhaid, and strengthened the community cooperation that Al Dhaid Club seeks with partners and strengthened relations between players and families by calling for preventive medical examinations to enhance public health.
Through its mutual relation with the Friends of Arthritis Patients, affiliated to the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, Al Dhaid Club aims to develop friendly relations and introduce goals of the World Osteoporosis Day through activities, aiming at educating community members about the dangers of joint diseases.
Activities included consultations, medical examinations, and an awareness lecture presented by Dr. Souad Hanawi, Senior Consultant of Rheumatology and Vice President of the Association. The lecture was attended by a group of family members, along with the players and the technical and administrative teams of Al Dhaid0 club.
At the end of the event, Salem Saif Al Jari, Administrative Director of Al Dhaid Club, honoured Her Excellency Waheeda Abdel Aziz, President of the Friends of Arthritis Patients, for her contribution to the success of the event.
Al Jari praised the Association's cooperation to ensure the success of the event, providing examinations and awareness to attendees, which contributed to achieving the desired goals.
Waheeda Abdel Aziz, Head of the Arthritis Patients Friends Association, confirmed that the activities of the World Osteoporosis Day, held at Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, come within the framework of joint cooperation in addition to a continuation of the seminars organised by Arthritis Patients Friends on the World Osteoporosis Day, under the slogan "It’s in your hands... Take the decision."
Waheeda Abdel Aziz explained that the activities included conducting examinations, an introductory session, and distributing leaflets, with the aim of educating community members about joint diseases and ways to prevent them.
