Sharjah 24 - WAM: As part of its contribution to supporting the fundamental needs of thousands of Afghan families, including the most vulnerable groups such as women, children, and the elderly, the UAE today deployed a plane bringing essential medical and food aid to Afghanistan.
The urgent assistance is part of the UAE's humanitarian role in providing full support to the brotherly Afghan people in such struggling times, by helping to provide much-needed assistance and promoting the approach of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the country's founding father, in fulfilment of the wise leadership's policy.
The UAE's assistance is not just for the humanitarian reasons. Under the orders of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the UAE recently hosted thousands of Afghan families in the community and provided them with temporary care, in addition to taking all necessary steps to meet their basic needs.
