Sharjah24: Grade 12 students in public and private schools that follow the Ministry of Education’s curriculum achieved advanced results in the end-of-year exams for the academic year 2020-2021, where 28,220 grade 12 students in public and private schools sat for the final exams with an approximate pass rate of 91%.

Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) praised grade 12 students’ performance and their outstanding efforts, culminating in obtaining high results that reflect the extent of competitiveness and determination they showed across various educational streams, especially students of the Elite and Advanced Streams. This year’s Elite Stream class is the first to graduate studying the curricula explicitly developed for this stream from grade 9, launched in 2017. The Elite Stream was developed to simulate the world’s best education systems, preparing the students for their future education.
Moreover, approximately 19,956 students in public schools sat for the end-of-year exams with a pass rate of approximately 88%. Students of Elite and Advanced Streams exceeded the results with a 100% pass rate, where the pass rate of the General Stream reached 84% and 77% for the Applied Stream.
Moreover, 146 students enrolled in the Elite Stream, which is only applied at public schools, achieved a 100% pass rate; 33% scored (A+), while 58% scored (A) and only a few students score a (B+).
As for the Advanced Stream that is applied at both public and private schools that follow the Ministry of Education’s curriculum, 11,400 students enrolled in this stream and achieved a 100% pass rate; 44% scored (A+), 40% scored (B+), 15% scored (B) and 1% scored (C+).
As for private school students that follow the Ministry of Education’s curriculum, a total of 8,255 students achieved an approximately 96% pass rate, where the pass rate of the General Stream was approximately 88% and 100% for the Advanced Stream.
Furthermore, Her Excellency Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education and Chairperson of the Board of the Emirates Schools Establishment, congratulated the students for achieving outstanding results that prove the quality of the outputs of the developed education system in the country. Her Excellency praised the efforts of the students’ parents, especially in light of the current exceptional circumstances, as they worked closely with their children and encouraged them throughout their educational journey to support the education system. Her Excellency also praised the teachers and administrators for their tremendous efforts with grade 12 students, contributing to their academic success and excellence.
Her Excellency praised the support of the wise leadership for the country’s education system and for investing in generations that acquire the needed skills and knowledge to effectively participate in building the country’s future across all sectors.
Her Excellency commented, “Today’s accomplishment is the result of a well-developed education system that was created in line with the country’s future needs, strategies and vision that were based on the quality of the education system’s outcomes and the need to have qualified cadres with future skills and knowledge. Grade 12 students are the result of our efforts for the past five years, during which we made sure to develop our curricula and teaching methods in our schools and train our teachers according to global methods, aiming to create a modern, interactive educational environment.”
Additionally, Her Excellency Dr. Rabaa Ali Al Sumaiti, Director General of the Emirates Schools Establishment, congratulated grade 12 graduates on their well-deserved success in light of the current circumstances that they had to overcome with the support of the wise leadership, their parents’ assistance and the teachers’ great efforts. She added that the establishment succeeded in overcoming these difficulties and changed the challenges into opportunities, which showed in the tremendous educational outcome that was achieved lately.
The Emirates Schools Establishment stated that more than 3,000 teachers, administrators and technicians contributed to the completion of the in-school exams for grade 12 students, where they guaranteed the students’ safety and applied preventive and precautionary measures, providing them with a safe educational environment to sit for the exams without any obstacles.
The remaining schedule of announcing the exams' results of grades 1-12 students in public and private schools following the Ministry of Education’s curriculum for the academic year 2020-2021 is as follows: Monday 5 July for Grades 10-11, Tuesday 6 July for Grades 8-9, Wednesday 7 July for Grades 4-7, and Thursday 8 July for Grades 1-3. Accordingly, Emirates Schools Establishment requests all parents and students to take into account the announced dates and visit the students’ portal for easy access to the results. Students can get their actual or e-certificate by visiting Al Manhal portal until the certificates are issued two days after the results are announced.
Students are entitled to enroll in the Advanced Stream in public schools from grade 9, depending on their choice and academic performance. Students study and obtain intensive preparations in mathematics, physics, and chemistry in English in this stream. Moreover, distinguished students can enroll in the Elite Stream (Advanced Science Programme- ASP) from grade 5 till grade 12. The Elite stream curriculum in mathematics and science in English focuses on enhancing analysis skills, logical thinking, and problem-solving in practical ways.
