Sharjah 24: According to Yousif Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chief Executive Officer of Sharjah Sustainable City (SSC), more than 65 % of the project's first phase has been completed and about 60% of the residential villas sold.
He stated to “Sharjah 24”, that the Emirate of Sharjah has evolved into a premier investment destination in the region, as well as a regional leader in terms of environmental sustainability, an area brimming with the most promising investment opportunities across a wide range of industries, keeping up with the global trend of increasing green energy sources and environmentally friendly manufacturing practices.
Sharjah Sustainable City, according to Al Mutawa, is the first global mixed-use residential project in the Emirate of Sharjah to achieve the highest sustainability requirements. Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and Diamond Developers collaborated on this project.
Sharjah Sustainable City was built with the goal of lowering Sharjah's carbon footprint by using 100% solar energy, recycling 100% of water and waste, as well as cultivating vegetables and fruits, and encouraging recreational activities.
Residential units in Sharjah Sustainable City are expected to save up to 50% on power and water bills by encouraging walking and using clean mobility through offering electric autonomous vehicles and charging facilities for electric cars.
