Sharjah24 – Reuters: A huge moon dazzled Argentines, Venezuelans, and Chileans on Monday (April 26) night as a glowing supermoon rose high over Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Caracas cities.
Rising over La Plata river in Buenos Aires, the full moon shone on the water as the night sky darkened.
The extra-large moon glowed over Caracas and El Avila mountain.
In Santiago, Chile's capital, the moon was also clearly visible over the city.
A super moon is a name given to a full moon that occurs when the moon is closest to the Earth.
According to NASA, this year's super moon has been called a "pink" super moon, as it appears in April and named after an American plant, pink phlox, that blooms in Spring.
