"Whoever come to us, explore all traits that embody honour, dignity, and commitment to religion and its teachings, which is a duty. Moreover, they can feel secure when they are at our home. These qualities are the core of the development of our society, as they are deep-rooted and an inseparable part of our unequivocal authenticity in which all these qualities are melted. With this in mind, we can make our country invaluably humane."
With these words His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, addressed young people at a ceremony to mark Sheikh Sultan Award for Celebrating the Spirit of Youth’ 2020.
During the second edition of the Award, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah spoke to youth about the characteristics of the society that the wise leadership favours and works for, and wishes to establish as the best unbroken model for society, because it really already exists. This wise talk to young people is to make them realise the strengths and potentials of the family and the homeland, and to grow up on these traits that characterise this unique and tolerant society which is proud of its origin, Arabism, language, history and heritage, as well as other values and concepts that make it a stable, safe and developed society.
In his speech, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah highlighted the degrees of excellence in the Emirati society, which attracts people to it. This society has, in few years, produced a modern state through adopting the right modus operandi, thus enticing people from all over the world, regardless of the various reasons behind their fluxing from all corners of the world for various reasons. Whatever are the reasons behind their visits, they will explore the qualities that characterise the people of this place. This is not limited to the physical presence of people, but also includes dealing with everything that this society has produced and excelled in, be it literature, culture, arts and management, as well as other areas of knowledge. Those who visit our country will find people who are proud of themselves, their homeland and their history; committed to their religious duties; tolerant, respectful of others, and appreciative of every human effort, not to mention security and safety this nation enjoys, all of which are fully human characteristics of a civilised society that regards the human value as the loftiest and most paramount, thus making its love and respect incumbent on the other.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah believes that the advancement of the society is conditioned by the existence of these qualities; they are evidently existent in authenticity. He added that the values of the original and pure society are derived from its preexistent and firmly embedded history, its superb traditions inherited from ancestors, and the teachings of its tolerant belief. Authenticity is the pot of good values, and it is the characteristic of human society in the first place; the society that is tolerant and reconciled to itself and others, and leads a pioneering experience in the present, and aspires to a prosperous future. This is a precious precept to the youth of today and the men and women of tomorrow.
