Sharjah 24: Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), affirmed that the UAE is a unique example of tolerance, moderation, acceptance of the other, and civilised coexistence.
He said that the international position the country occupies according to global indicators of tolerance, is a natural outcome for the policies it has been pursuing since its establishment, and an expected result of the efforts sponsored and directed by the wise leadership, with the aim of instilling the values of coexistence, dialogue and love, not only at the national level, but also regionally and globally.
He pointed out that the UAE confirms, year after year, that it is an oasis of global tolerance due to its initiatives and projects in the field of spreading the values of coexistence and peace, adding that tolerance is one of the highest human values on which the UAE was founded, and which were instilled by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in the hearts of all the people of the nation, so that these values have become the characteristic of the Emirati society, whose members have now assumed the responsibility of disseminating them to all parts of the globe.
Al Awadhi concluded: “We, in the SCCI, are guided by the visions, wisdom and policy of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who shows ultimate keenness to establishing the value of tolerance as a sustainable institutional work, as well as supporting initiatives that enhance the position of the UAE as a pioneering model of tolerance.”
