Sharjah 24: Major General Saif Al-Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, received at the Police Officers Club Thursday morning, a delegation from the Swaed Emirates Volunteers Association, headed by Professor Fatima Al Shehyari, Chairman of the Association, in the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Zaabi, Deputy Director of the Office of the Commander in Chief.
The visit came within the framework of joint cooperation between the Emirati Sawaed Volunteer Association and the Sharjah Police, to discuss ways of improving volunteer services, and to learn about the association’s role and its future plans.
Welcoming the delegation, Major General Al Shamsi praised the important societal role that the association plays, its positive role and its appreciated contribution to promoting the volunteering process and spreading the culture of volunteering in the community. He also valued the Association’s efforts in enhancing the quality of life, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two sides, and the extent of Sharjah Police’s keenness to extend bridges of cooperation in voluntary fields, by strengthening security, community and humanitarian work, and consolidating the role of volunteer work among employees as well as motivating them to participate in the community, within the framework of social responsibility towards society and the homeland.
For her part, Al Shehyari thanked the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police for the warm reception, appreciating the existing cooperation between the Association and Sharjah Police, and praising the efforts of the Sharjah Police to enhance and spread awareness of the importance of the volunteer field among employees and community members in the emirate.
At the end of the visit, commemorative shields were exchanged by the two sides.
