Arab League chief urges necessity of further pressure on Houthis

Sharjah 24 – KUNA: Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboulgheit assured the importance of putting more international pressure on the Houthi group, to persuade them into halting their military actions.
This came during a meeting between Aboulgheit and Yemen's Foreign Minister Ahmed Mubarak, an Arab League statement revealed. The talks revolved around the latest developments in Yemen under such escalations and an attempt to find a political solution.
Halting military activity, explained Aboul Gheit, will make way for a political solution that involves all parties based on Security Council resolution number 2216.
He also pledged Arab League support of this decision by the Yemeni government which aims to protect the country's unity in facing regional challenges.
