This came in Arab Leagueآ‘s statement during the meeting of the itآ‘s Secretary General Ahmad Abulgheit, with the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maryam Al-Mahdi, prior to the launch of the League Councilآ‘s work at foreign ministerial level.
Abulgheit expressed hope of current Sudanese-Ethiopian borders crises to be resolved peacefully and through dialogue in a manner that respects the sovereignty of Sudan over all of its lands.
Regarding the Renaissance Dam issue, he renewed the Leagueآ‘s firm commitment to preserving the water rights of both Egypt and Sudan and its support for efforts to reach a fair and legal agreement that takes into account the interests of all parties.
He also stressed the League's commitment to support Sudan and its institutions, and standing by Sudanese people in order to complete the important political transition process that the country is going through.
