Sharjah 24: In a circular issued regarding remote work, Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) announced the application of the remote work system for employees, as of Sunday, February 14, 2021, according to the percentage seen by the competent authority.
The competent authority implements remote work in a manner that does not cause disruption to work or reduce the level of general performance of the workplace, with the exception of employees whose duties require their presence at their workplace. In addition, the employer must provide the utmost security and safety, with the need to ensure that the employees are not crowded into one place, and that the distance between each employee is not less than two metres.

The circular stated the need to distribute work among employees who will not be subject to remote work, if possible, so that they rotate among them on a weekly basis in attending the workplace, provided that the attendance rate for employees is not less than 50% to ensure the continuity of work.

The circular also affirmed to alert employees to the necessity to adhere to security and safety measures and to take the necessary precautions to preserve their health and safety of their colleagues while they are at the workplace, noting the implementation of Sharjah Executive Council Resolution No. (35) of 2020 regarding violations of precautionary measures to confront COVID-19.

His Excellency Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Member of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR), called for the importance of commitment by all, including employers and employees, to strictly apply all measures and precautionary measures that ensure public safety.
