Sharjah 24: Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Head of the Emergencies Crisis and Disaster Team, witnessed "Jaheziya 4 - 2020" exercise, which was carried out by the Sharjah Police, in cooperation with the Sharjah Civil Defence in Kalba city.
Present also at the event were Brigadier General Abdullah bin Amer Deputy Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief; Brigadier General Dr. Ali Salem Al Tunaiji, Director General of Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior; general directors, heads of departments in Sharjah Police, and a number of representatives of police partners, as well as a number of senior officers.
The exercise comes within the framework of strengthening the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior, and achieving the principle of joint cooperation and coordination among the security agencies, the executive committees in the emirate and the support bodies, to measure the preparedness of the concerned teams and raise their readiness in facing various challenges.
The Sharjah Civil Defence Department, the National Ambulance, and the National Search and Rescue Centre, took part in the exercise.
Major General Al Shamsi affirmed the Sharjah Police’s keenness to continuously implement field exercises that embody Police’s high efficiency and readiness to achieve security, safety and reassurance for UAE citizens and residents, and its effective role in gaining field experience and the ability to plan operations, in order to improve security readiness and actuation of security readiness requirements.
“Jaheziya 4" included four scenarios of potential risks that simulate reality, which are implemented through a series of sequential measures to deal with crises and disasters.
Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief commended the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Team, and the participating teams, for their efforts to make this exercise a success, which simulates the reality that the emirate lives in its mountainous and coastal areas in the winter season, praising their performance that embodied their competence and high readiness to deal with potential risks that threaten the health and safety of society.
He also appreciated the great role and support provided by partners in dealing with all events, stressing that the success of the exercise lies in organised joint work and dealing with crises professionally, especially since we are in an era where success requires the presence of distinguished supportive partnerships in the security fields.
