Sharjah24: The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) approved a draft law on the general budget of Sharjah government departments and agencies for the year 2021 in its seventh session, which it held within its work for the second ordinary session of the tenth legislative term, headed by His Excellency Ali Mehd Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Council.
The Council discussed the draft general budget law of the Government of Sharjah for the year 2021 and the report received by the Council’s Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee regarding the draft law, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammad bin Saud Al Qasimi, member of the Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of the Central Financial Department, and His Excellency Walid Ibrahim Al Sayegh, Director General of the Finance Department and their assistants from Department managers and experts.

The Council also discussed a parliamentary question submitted by His Excellency Council member Suhail Salem Al Kaabi regarding the department's follow-up mechanism and its roles regarding the disbursement of financial payments to the beneficiaries of housing loans and grants, which is directed to the Housing Department in the Government of Sharjah.

At the beginning of the session, His Excellency Ali Mehd Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Council, indicated that a letter was received by the Council from the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah to refer a draft law on the general budget of departments and agencies for 2021 for urgent consideration so that it can be submitted to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

After that, the members of the Council discussed the draft budget and sought the responses of the representatives of the Central Finance Department about all expenditures in addition to the expected revenues and made a number of important recommendations. At the end of the discussion, the council approved the draft general budget law for the departments and agencies of the Sharjah government for 2021.
