Sharjah24: As part of its efforts to preserving the aesthetic appearance of the emirate of Sharjah, Sharjah Municipality (SM) announced the issuance of a license to construct 33 new investment parking lots yards in several regions in Sharjah and renewing the license for other 1500 yards during the current year.
Commenting on that , Khaled bin Falah Al Swaidi, Assistant General Manager for the Customer Services Sector, affirmed that there are 300 investment parking lots yards in Sharjah, licensed by the municipality and supervised by the Public Parking Department containing nearly 20,000 paid parking lots.
For his part, Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazeen, Director of Public Parking Department at Sharjah Municipality, emphasised that the investment parking lots yards are licensed by the municipality according to set of criteria and conditions, affirming that SM providing the institution or investor a permit to practice this commercial activity and installing a board that shows the facility's name, numbers of parking lots and fees. He stated that the municipality protects these facilities from malpractice such as parking for long periods without paying fees or parking the vehicle in a wrong way.
