According to tracking data from PowerOutage.com, more than 88,000 homes and businesses remained without power across New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania as of Saturday afternoon, down from a peak of over 119,000 earlier in the day. Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York each reported more than 25,000 outages, with utility providers like PSEG Long Island mobilizing crews to clear downed trees, branches, and live wires. Meanwhile, flight tracking service FlightAware reported approximately 425 cancellations and over 1,300 delays at US airports on Saturday.
The National Weather Service warns that the severe weather system will continue bringing heavy rain, powerful wind gusts, rip currents, and coastal flooding to the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions through Monday. In anticipation of the severe conditions, the governors of New York and New Jersey declared states of emergency in high-impact counties—including New York City—while Connecticut activated its state Emergency Operations Center.
