His Excellency added: “Their ambition is part of the nation’s ambition, and their achievements part of its progress. Women make up half the nation, but their impact goes beyond numbers, seen in what they create and contribute, and in the aspirations they inspire in future generations. On Emirati Women’s Day, we celebrate a nation that has believed from the outset that its progress depends on all its people. In Sharjah, nowhere is that impact more visible than in culture. Emirati women have made their mark as writers, publishers, creatives and researchers, enriching the cultural landscape and taking the UAE’s voice and culture to the world. What they write, create and lead today shapes our cultural memory and what we pass on to future generations.”
“This reflects the cultural vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which places people at the heart of development and culture at its foundation. Under the leadership of Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SBA, we are building on that vision by supporting women’s ideas, projects and contributions, and creating new connections between our culture and the world.”
