Spearheaded by the Federal Traffic Council in coordination with nationwide police forces, the campaign aims to foster a culture of road safety and strict adherence to traffic regulations as congestion peaks around schools. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police and head of the initiative, emphasized the need for patience and responsibility from drivers and parents navigating heavier morning traffic.
Registration for the campaign opens on August 17 through the Ministry of Interior's official social media channel (@MOIUAE). To incentivize safe driving, compliant motorists who register, sign the digital pledge, and meet all requirements will be rewarded with a reduction of four traffic points.
The initiative focuses on core safety practices, including checking vehicle readiness, adhering to school-zone speed limits, avoiding mobile phone distractions, maintaining safe following distances, and yielding to pedestrians. Highlighting the success of previous editions, officials stressed that the ultimate goal is to transform these safe driving habits into a year-round culture to protect lives and secure the nation's roads.
