Front-month Brent futures rose $1.12, or 1.3 per cent, to $84.89 a barrel by 0355 GMT, after falling 7 per cent in the previous session to a three-week low.
US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was up 77 cents, or 1 percent, at $81.11, after falling more than 5 percent in the previous session to its lowest level in nearly a week.
