Plans to expand export capacity
Iraqi Oil Ministry spokesman Salim Al-Rikabi stated that the agreement paves the way for a broader deal intended to boost export capacity past one million barrels per day once the Basra-Haditha-Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline project is completed.
Strengthening economic cooperation
Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi hailed the pact as a strategic milestone that guarantees the steady flow of Iraqi oil exports while deepening economic relations between the two nations.
He noted that Iraqi and Turkish companies will immediately begin executing the agreement as both governments pursue a broader cooperation framework spanning oil, electricity, water resources, and other sectors to foster mutual development and stability.
