The committee will be chaired by Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai. The initiative supports the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, focusing on strengthening family stability, wellbeing, and social development.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that the Emirati family is the foundation of a stable and prosperous society, noting that investing in families represents an investment in Dubai’s future and sustainable development.
He said Dubai continues to build an integrated social framework that places people at the centre by providing families with the support needed to thrive and contribute to the emirate’s growth.
Sheikh Hamdan added that the formation of the committee reflects Dubai’s approach to aligning government efforts around shared development priorities, enhancing the efficiency of the social framework, and strengthening its ability to respond to current and future needs.
Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid said the committee will establish an integrated institutional framework to oversee family-focused government initiatives and services while improving coordination among relevant entities.
She explained that the committee will supervise the implementation of initiatives under the programme through defined responsibilities, performance measurement, and collaborative efforts, supporting the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and strengthening family stability.
She added that the committee will focus on transforming social priorities into effective initiatives and services that deliver lasting impact for Emirati families by utilizing data, developing proactive policies, and enhancing cooperation across government entities.
The committee is chaired by Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, with Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, serving as Vice Chairman.
The committee includes Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA); Dr Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority; Omar Bushahab, Director General of Dubai Land Department; Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department; and Mohammed Hassan Al Shehhi, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment.
The committee will oversee initiatives under the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, monitor progress against approved objectives, coordinate efforts among Dubai Government entities, and submit recommendations on policies and initiatives to the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs.
It will also track performance indicators, assess the impact of programmes, prepare periodic reports, propose new family-focused initiatives, establish specialised working groups when required, and ensure alignment with Dubai Government priorities and the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33.
