Sheikh Hamdan reviewed key projects aimed at accelerating Dubai’s digital transformation and strengthening its position as a global hub for artificial intelligence and future industries.
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on an executive plan to accelerate the adoption of Agentic AI across Dubai’s private sector. This ambitious programme aims to support 295,000 companies, develop 100 specialised AI assistants over the next two years, and help establish 50 Agentic AI companies. He emphasised that artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping business models, enhancing competitiveness, and creating new economic opportunities, with the private sector playing a central role in this ongoing transformation.
Dubai to host ICPC World Finals 2026
Furthering Dubai's global standing, Sheikh Hamdan approved the hosting of the 50th edition of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, which stands as one of the world’s largest student programming competitions. Scheduled to take place from 16 to 20 November 2026, the high-profile event will bring together 140 teams from more than 70 countries. Hosting the contest reinforces Dubai’s position as a premier global destination for top-tier digital talent and technological innovation.
New strategic initiatives and digital economy growth
The committee also approved several strategic initiatives designed to bolster Dubai's digital ecosystem, including the Dubai Global Talent Network platform, which is designed to connect global talent linked to Dubai and leverage their expertise for future development projects. Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan approved the Dubai Police’s Digital Twin System, a smart surveillance project that will utilise advanced digital technologies and real-time data analysis to enhance security operations across the city.
The meeting concluded with a review of the significant progress made across several ongoing digital economy projects. The committee highlighted the SME digital trade initiative with Amazon, which now supports more than 105,000 companies, and the Ignyte platform, which has grown to exceed 36,000 users. Furthermore, the Dubai AI Campus is now home to more than 400 specialised companies, while the Dubai Founders HQ has successfully attracted over 1,100 members and 500 startups, with participating companies raising more than AED 200 million in funding.
