Badawi said exports are expected to rise to 2.5 million tonnes in the second half of the year, matching the total volume achieved in 2025. He also noted that Egypt’s crude oil production has reached its highest level in nearly two years.
Several refineries have expanded output, including Cairo Oil Refining Company, Alexandria National Refining and Petrochemicals Company, and Amreya Petroleum Refining Company, as part of efforts to strengthen energy security and reduce imports.
Egypt is also advancing $4.5 billion in refinery projects aimed at boosting production capacity, improving efficiency and enhancing the country’s position as an energy exporter.
