Sharjah24-WAM: The UAE has expanded its humanitarian operations across several countries affected by natural disasters and health emergencies, providing emergency relief to communities in Syria, the Philippines, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.

Through UAE Aid, assistance has been delivered to families affected by flooding along the Euphrates River in Syria, including essential relief supplies and shelter support. Field teams have also conducted assessments in coordination with local authorities to identify priority humanitarian needs.

In the Philippines, the UAE continued its relief efforts following a powerful earthquake in the south of the country by supplying food and drinking water. Plans are also underway to distribute more than 20,000 food parcels and 20,000 gallons of potable water in the next phase of operations.

Lorelie Pacquiao, Mayor of General Santos City, praised the UAE’s humanitarian assistance, describing it as an important contribution to meeting the immediate needs of affected families and communities.

The UAE has also supported international efforts to combat Ebola outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda by providing medical supplies and logistical assistance, in coordination with the World Health Organisation and other international partners.

The latest interventions build on earlier relief operations carried out this year in Malaysia, Mozambique and Kenya, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to emergency response, recovery and resilience-building in vulnerable communities around the world.
