Seven days before their high-profile opening Group C match against Brazil, the Atlas Lions faced a strong final test to assess their technical and physical readiness against a team heading to the World Cup with high ambitions, led by the star duo Martin Ødegaard and Erling Haaland.
After Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Abdelkader Díaz gave Morocco the lead in the eighth minute, Arsenal captain Ødegaard equalised with 15 minutes of normal time remaining (75).
Morocco created several good scoring opportunities, the best of which fell to Real Betis forward Abdessamad Ezzalzouli in the 38th minute after a cross from Díaz.
Norway also had chances, particularly towards the end of the first half, when goalkeeper Yassine Bounou made an excellent save to deny Antonio Nusa.
Díaz almost scored a second goal in the 57th minute, but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland. Naïl El Aynaoui then tried to follow up with a header, but it went over the bar.
Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi used the match to assess the fitness and readiness of many players in his squad.
Norway adopted a similar approach as it prepares to compete in Group I alongside France, Iraq and Senegal.
