Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Al Naqbi explained that the session addressed the role of law in raising awareness and promoting legal culture within the sports system. He noted that Federal Law No. 4 of 2023 regulates several violations related to sports committees, while transgressions outside the scope of sports activities are referred to the Criminal Procedures Law and the Civil Code.
Al Naqbi added that the session also discussed match-fixing, reviewing the most prominent penalties imposed on violators, which can reach a fine of 100,000 dirhams, in addition to imprisonment depending on the nature of the violation.
Al Naqbi stressed the necessity for all members of the sports system—players, referees, coaches, and fans—to adhere to applicable laws and regulations, whether those pertaining to sports committees or general laws, in order to enhance integrity and fairness within the sports sector.
