His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid made the remarks during a meeting with Stephanie Pope, Executive Vice President of The Boeing Company and President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid highlighted the UAE’s expanding partnerships with leading global companies in aviation, particularly Boeing, describing the relationship as a model of impactful collaboration within the industry.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Boeing’s participation in the 19th Dubai Airshow and emphasized opportunities to strengthen aviation, support innovation and sustainability, and explore new growth and joint investment prospects.
During the discussions, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed acknowledged the agreement between Emirates Airline and Boeing for a new order of 65 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, valued at $38 billion, increasing Emirates' total Boeing orders to 315 wide-body aircraft.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed affirmed Dubai’s commitment to excellence and technological advancement, aiming to solidify its position as a leading global hub for aviation innovation through strategic partnerships with top manufacturers and technology developers.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group. The parties reviewed their enduring partnership and collaborative plans.
Boeing’s Executive Vice President expressed pride in the strategic partnership with the UAE and Emirates Airline, highlighting the significance of the Dubai Airshow as a platform to showcase Boeing’s commercial, defence, and service portfolio.
Discussions also explored key enablers for the future of aviation, including artificial intelligence, sustainable aviation technology, electric and hybrid aircraft, smart fuel management, advanced navigation systems, and cooperation in training, technology, and research and development.
