His Highness toured key facilities including the Furusiyya Gallery, home to 173 rare historical artefacts, and Dar Al Hiraf, the UAE’s first traditional saddle-making workshop.
The visit also covered the academy’s Performance Hall (manège), where weekly classical equestrian showcases are held, and the Equestrian Library, one of the largest specialised equestrian libraries globally, containing around 14,000 rare books and manuscripts.
ADREA representatives briefed Sheikh Khaled on its advanced academic and professional training programmes, along with its Junior programmes that introduce young learners to the ethics and values of horsemanship.
Sheikh Khaled praised ADREA as a major cultural and sporting addition to Abu Dhabi, highlighting its blend of world-class expertise and authentic Emirati equestrian traditions. He commended the academy’s role in developing a new generation of skilled riders and in strengthening the heritage of classical horsemanship.
Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment and ADREA Vice Chair, affirmed that leadership support has been central to the academy’s success. She noted that ADREA reflects the UAE’s vision of merging heritage with global excellence, presenting horsemanship as a refined cultural art.
Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by senior officials during the visit.
ADREA officially opened in early November 2025 with performances by leading classical riding schools from France, Austria, Portugal and Spain.
The academy features advanced stables, junior training facilities, indoor and outdoor arenas, shaded tracks, a veterinary clinic, and a rehabilitation centre, along with cafés and restaurants, offering an integrated educational and recreational experience.
