Sharjah 24 – WAM: The United Arab Emirates has conducted an urgent medical evacuation for 57 patients from the Gaza Strip, accompanied by their family members. This brings the total number of individuals evacuated under ‘Operation Chivalrous Knight 3’ since October 2023 to 2,961 patients and companions.

Reinforcing the UAE’s humanitarian role

The UAE has provided these patients with medical treatment, reaffirming its global humanitarian leadership in alleviating civilian suffering, promoting recovery, and supporting stability amid crises.

Details of the evacuation mission

The evacuation was carried out via Ramon Airport in Israel and through the Karam Abu Salem crossing. This latest mission marks the 29th medical evacuation conducted by the UAE International Aid Agency, in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to treat 1,000 wounded Palestinians and 1,000 cancer patients across UAE hospitals.

Commitment to supporting the Palestinian People

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the UAE’s International Aid Agency, reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast commitment to easing the suffering of those affected by crises and supporting global stability—particularly amid the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He noted that the UAE continues to coordinate patient transport operations with relevant international organisations as part of its ongoing relief response.

Ongoing relief and medical support

Al Shamsi highlighted that UAE relief efforts remain continuous, with local entities working under the agency’s supervision to deliver medical care, medicines, and essential supplies. These efforts include operations at the UAE floating hospital off the coast of Arish, Egypt, and the UAE field hospital in southern Gaza, both of which continue to provide vital medical services to the injured and vulnerable—especially children, women, and the elderly—amid severe humanitarian conditions.
