Brigadier General Dr Ali Rashid bin Awash Al Yamahi, Director General of Police Operations, explained that the case began on Thursday, 23 October 2025, when the operations room received a report at 10:50 a.m. from a bank customer. She reported the theft of AED 195,000 in a deceptive manner, after the suspects tricked her by pretending that her car’s rear tyre was faulty. When she stepped out to check, one of them opened the opposite door and stole the money before fleeing the scene.
Colonel Saeed Obaid Saif Al Kindi, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, said that the investigation team immediately began their work, forming a specialised unit to track the perpetrators and gather intelligence. Within just three hours, the team accurately identified the suspects, who were found to be wanted for similar crimes in another emirate. In close coordination with Sharjah Police, the gang was swiftly arrested and referred to the competent authorities for legal proceedings.
The Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police praised the high professionalism and field readiness of the investigation teams, affirming their ability to pursue criminals and solve complex cases in record time. He stated that this accomplishment reflects the efficiency of the Ministry of Interior’s security apparatus and its vision of enhancing safety and protecting the community.
Fujairah Police urged the public to exercise caution when leaving banks, avoid responding to deceptive tactics or engaging with strangers, and report any suspicious activity immediately to ensure a quick response and necessary action.
