Mohammed bin Rashid opens GITEX Global 2025

Accompanying H.H. Sheikh Mohammed during the visit were H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister; H.H. UAE’s vision for a digital economy

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to becoming a global model of a digital economy powered by innovation and artificial intelligence. He emphasized Dubai’s goal to raise the contribution of digital transformation to AED100 billion annually by 2033.

GITEX as a global innovation platform

Highlighting the significance of GITEX, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed over 6,800 technology companies and 2,000 startups from 180 countries. He described the event as a hub for global collaboration, new partnerships, and technological progress.

He noted that GITEX has grown into more than just a trade show—it now represents a global movement reflecting the UAE’s ambition to lead digital transformation, turn challenges into opportunities, and strengthen its role in the global digital economy.

Tour of global tech innovators

During the tour, Sheikh Mohammed and his delegation visited pavilions showcasing cutting-edge innovations in AI, cloud and quantum computing by leading companies including AWS, e&, G42, Huawei, IBM, Microsoft and Oracle.

Exploring emerging technologies

Sheikh Mohammed also toured the European Innovation Council pavilion, Cisco, Siemens, and Huawei booths, where he viewed pioneering solutions in AI, sustainability and digital transformation.

Highlights at the e& pavilion

At the e& pavilion, the delegation witnessed demonstrations of futuristic innovations such as flying cars, electric air taxis (eVTOLs), AI-powered autonomous vehicles, and advanced robotics.

Government innovation on display

His Highness also visited the pavilions of the General Directorate for Identity and Foreigners Affairs and the Community Development Authority, reviewing AI-driven solutions aimed at improving service quality and promoting smart city development.
