Sharjah 24 – WAM: Several large European airports—including Brussels, Berlin, and London’s Heathrow—were hit by a cyber‑related disruption on Saturday. The affected systems were automated check‑in and baggage drop services.

Collins Aerospace affected via MUSE software

The source of the problem was traced to MUSE, a software platform supplied by Collins Aerospace, which handles electronic checkins and baggage drop operations in select airports.

Manual operations underway; flights delayed and cancelled

Because the electronic systems were down, airports had to switch to manual checkins and boarding. The disruption led to several flight cancellations and delays—at Brussels some flights were cancelled and many more delayed by over an hour.

Heathrow, Berlin also impacted

Heathrow issued warnings about potential delays for departing passengers. Berlin’s Brandenburg Airport saw longer queue times at checkin and attributed them to the technical issues at the service provider.

Resolution efforts and passenger advisories

Collins Aerospace says it is working to restore full functionality as quickly as possible. Passengers are being urged to check with their airlines before heading to the airport and to expect longer wait times.
