Sharjah 24 – WAM: Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, has condemned the Israeli strike on Doha as "state terrorism" and a "grave escalation," calling it a blatant violation of Qatar's sovereignty and international law.

Speaking at a preparatory meeting for the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit, he described the attack as a threat to regional stability and an assault on Qatar’s mediation efforts in the ongoing conflict, which it has pursued alongside Egypt and the United States.

Defence of sovereignty and mediation role

The Prime Minister affirmed that Qatar would defend its sovereignty using all means permitted under international law. He emphasized that the strike targeted the very principle of mediation, undermining diplomatic efforts to end the war.

Civilian casualties and regional reactions

The strike reportedly caused civilian casualties, sparking widespread outrage across the region. Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit expressed full solidarity with Qatar, while OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha warned that the attack was intended to widen the war and destabilize the region.

A serious turning point

The incident marks a significant escalation in the crisis and could have serious diplomatic repercussions, potentially reshaping regional alliances and efforts toward de-escalation.
