The closing ceremony took place yesterday evening at the National Athletics Stadium in Radès, the capital of Tunisia, marking the end of the competition held from August 23 to 27.
The first gold medal was won by Salma Haitham Al-Marri in the women’s hammer throw final, where she achieved a personal best with a throw of 55.78 meters. Maryam Karim added the second gold in the women’s 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.50, while Abdul Quddus Ahmed Ali clinched the third gold in the men’s 200m, finishing in 21.32 seconds.
Earlier in the championship, Abdul Quddus Ahmed Ali won a bronze medal in the junior 400m race. Liyazia Tariq Abdul Salam earned both a silver and a bronze in the women’s pole vault final, alongside a bronze in the women’s javelin throw.
Lieutenant General Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Murr, President of the Athletics Federation, emphasised that these achievements reflect the federation’s successful strategy of nurturing a strong generation of champions capable of competing at regional, continental, and international levels.
