High-level delegation visit to Angola
The agreement was concluded during an official visit by a high-level UAE economic delegation to the Angolan capital, Luanda. The MoU was signed by His Excellency Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), along with Vicente Soares, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Angola. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials and business representatives from both sides.
Council to foster economic growth and trade
In his remarks, His Excellency Abdallah Sultan Al Owais described the creation of the UAE–Angola Business Council as a milestone in bilateral cooperation. He emphasised that the council will act as a platform to generate real and promising business opportunities in both markets, backed by the support of the UAE Chambers and CCIA.
Structured approach to commercial cooperation
Al Owais stated that the council will implement a structured framework for launching a range of commercial and promotional initiatives in key economic sectors agreed upon by both parties. These initiatives will include opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors to showcase their ventures, develop long-term partnerships, and identify high-value sectors for collaboration.
Angolan commitment to economic dialogue
The Angolan business community welcomed the council’s formation as a vital tool for converting shared interests into practical initiatives. They reiterated their dedication to fostering strategic partnerships within the council's framework, strengthening economic dialogue, and exchanging market intelligence and investment opportunities.
Key functions of the Business Council
According to the MoU, the UAE–Angola Business Council will serve as a channel for continuous interaction between the business sectors of both nations. It will facilitate the exchange of knowledge about trade regulations, investment frameworks, and business opportunities. The council also plans to organise joint exhibitions, conferences, and reciprocal trade missions to support mutual economic goals.
