Sharjah 24 – WAM: Qatar has strongly condemned the Iranian attack that targeted Al Udeid Air Base this evening. Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Qatari Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, denounced the assault in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Violation of sovereignty and international law

Dr Al Ansari described the attack by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a flagrant violation of Qatar's sovereignty and airspace, as well as a breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Qatar reserves right to respond

He emphasised that Qatar reserves the right to respond directly and proportionately to the nature and scale of the aggression, in line with international law.

Attack successfully repelled

Dr Al Ansari confirmed that Qatari air defences intercepted and repelled the incoming missiles. He added that the Ministry of Defence will issue a detailed statement on the incident and its circumstances in due course.
