Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Sultan of Oman, welcomed His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, at Al-Baraka Palace in Muscat. Sheikh Hamdan is leading a high-level UAE delegation on an official visit to Oman.

Strengthening bilateral relations

During the meeting, Sultan Haitham expressed his appreciation for the strong fraternal bonds between Oman and the UAE. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including economic, commercial, tourism, cultural, and knowledge domains, to support comprehensive development in both countries.

Shared commitment to sustainable development

Sheikh Hamdan conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, to Sultan Haitham. He emphasised the shared commitment to sustainable development and the mutual exchange of successful development experiences, aiming to advance a common vision for the future and reinforce Gulf cooperation.

Delegation highlights

The UAE delegation included prominent figures such as His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority; and Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. Also present were several UAE ministers and officials, reflecting the high-level nature of the visit.

Warm reception in Muscat

Earlier in the day, Sheikh Hamdan arrived in Muscat, where he was welcomed at the Royal Airport by His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Tariq Al Said, Oman’s Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth. The visit underscores the strong and enduring ties between the two nations.
