SCC Committee continues field visits to government departments

Sharjah 24: The Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs, and Public Utilities Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) held on Tuesday an expanded meeting, at the Council's headquarters in Sharjah.
The meeting aims to complement its efforts during the second session of the eleventh legislative term.

The meeting was chaired by Engineer Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Committee, and attended by committee members: Sultan Saeed Dalmouk Al Suwaidi, Majid Ahmed Al Darwishi Al Shamsi, Fatima Mohammed Khasouni Al Ketbi, Ahmed Obaid Al Awasiyah Al Zaabi, and Salem Mohammed Al Rashidi. From the Council's General Secretariat, the meeting was attended by Amna Baslaib, Sessions Affairs Officer and Session Secretary. 

Follow-up on strategic plans

The meeting was held to review the committee's views and follow up on its strategic plans that include a number of vital sectors related to municipal services, infrastructure, and public facilities, as well as Islamic affairs and endowments, and related community and development initiatives that contribute to the well-being of individuals, families, and society.

Visiting government departments and bodies

During the meeting, the committee discussed several key topics, most notably the schedule for completing its upcoming field visits to a number of government departments and agencies in the Emirate of Sharjah. 

The aim is to assess the services provided to the public, identify the challenges facing these entities, and make appropriate recommendations, thereby enhancing the performance of government institutions and improving the quality of life in the emirate.

Developing public facilities’ services

The committee also discussed the most prominent related issues and topics raised during previous sessions, in addition to reviewing government agencies' plans to develop services related to public facilities and community services. 
It also discussed the general framework for its upcoming report, which it will submit to the Council regarding the results of its visits and its analysis of the collected data and observations. 

Engineer Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Committee, indicated that the Committee works within the SCC vision of supporting balanced and sustainable development in the Emirate of Sharjah. Al Shamsi emphasised the Committee's commitment to ensuring its field visits are effective and fruitful, through detailed review of field observations and opening direct channels of communication with officials.

Supporting relevant authorities

Al Shamsi noted that the Public Utilities Committee prioritises supporting relevant authorities in developing infrastructure and improving the efficiency of services, particularly those that impact the daily lives of citizens and residents. She praised the cooperation of official bodies with the Committee and their openness and willingness to respond to the Council's observations and recommendations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Committee approved a number of organisational recommendations and set a timeframe for its upcoming visits. 

The committee affirmed its determination to continue efforts aimed at achieving the best results, reflecting the Council's commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships and integration in national work to serve the Emirate of Sharjah and its residents.
