Sharjah 24 – WAM: Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for residents in parts of New Jersey's Ocean Township, Lakewood and Lacey Township in Ocean County due to a fast-spreading wildfire which broke out Tuesday morning.

The Garden State Parkway, one of New Jersey's busiest highways, was closed between Barnegat and Lacey townships, according to the New Jersey Fire Service.

The fire threatened more than 1,300 structures, with approximately 3,000 residents evacuated
