The sacking came shortly after Sevilla’s 1-0 loss to Valencia in the 31st round of La Liga. This marked the team’s fourth consecutive league loss, placing them 13th in the table with 36 points, with seven matches remaining in the season.
In an official statement, the club said: “Sevilla FC would like to thank García Pimienta for his work over the past months and his professionalism, and wishes him success in his future challenges.”
According to local media reports, Sevilla is expected to bring back former coach Joaquín Caparrós to lead the team on an interim basis until the end of the season.
