Maktoum bin Mohammed: Dubai FinTech Summit to boost global role

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) will host the third edition of the Dubai FinTech Summit on 12–13 May 2025 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, under the theme ‘FinTech for All’. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the summit will gather global leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore the latest in FinTech.

Reinforcing Dubai’s global financial ambitions

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum stated that the summit embodies the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai as a global financial powerhouse. The event is expected to host over 8,000 attendees, 300 speakers from over 100 countries, and more than 1,000 investors, reinforcing Dubai’s rising global influence in finance and technology. The summit supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to place Dubai among the top four global financial centres by 2033.

FinTech sector poised for strong growth

The FinTech sector is forecasted to reach $1.5 trillion in global revenues by 2030, comprising around 7% of the total financial services market. This expansion is being driven by AI, blockchain, and digital banking innovations.

Agenda focus: Future of finance and innovation

The summit agenda will cover the future of finance, financial innovation, regulatory compliance, and key sectors such as blockchain, AI-driven financial services, and digital banking. It will also delve into investment trends, economic shifts, and cross-border regulation.

DIFC’s role in driving innovation

Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, emphasized the role of DIFC in creating an innovation-driven ecosystem. He noted that the summit will further establish Dubai as a top destination for FinTech investment and talent.

Exhibition and Sustainability Forum

The summit will host a 200-exhibitor showcase and, for the first time, will incorporate the Future Sustainability Forum. Sessions will focus on accessibility, inclusivity, and empowerment in financial services, reflecting the event's inclusive theme.

Global thought leaders join the lineup

Notable speakers include: Marko Primorac, Deputy PM & Finance Minister of Croatia; Gilles Roth, Finance Minister of Luxembourg; Timothy Adams, President & CEO of IIF, USA; Tony O. Elumelu, Chairman, United Bank for Africa; and Vijay Shekhar Sharma, CEO of Paytm, India.

Showcasing startups and innovation

Startup and country pavilions will feature emerging technologies and innovations. The FinTech World Cup will give startups a global platform to pitch to investors and partners.
