Sharjah 24 – WAM: The UAE national beach football team claimed the silver medal at the 3rd GCC Beach Games in Muscat 2025, defeating Kuwait 5-1 on the tournament’s final day.

The event, held from April 5th to 11th, saw 330 athletes from GCC countries, with the UAE delegation consisting of 77 athletes. The UAE finished with a total of 23 medals: 8 gold, 8 silver, and 7 bronze.

Key highlights

  • UAE’s Strong Showing in Sailing: The UAE sailing team led the delegation, earning 11 medals, including gold in the Optimist team event and a K4 gold by Marwa Al Hammadi.
  • Athletics Performance: The athletics team secured six medals, including three silver and three bronze, with notable performances in the relay and high jump events.
  • Aerosports Achievements: The UAE aerosports team brought home three medals, two golds in paragliding by Abdullah Nasser Al Hammadi, and a silver in the team event.
  • Bronze in Beach Handball: The UAE beach handball team secured bronze after winning four matches, despite losses to Oman.

Final medal standings

  • Oman finished in first place with 45 medals.
  • Saudi Arabia placed third with 18 medals.
  • Bahrain came in fourth with 17 medals.
  • Qatar and Kuwait rounded out the top six positions.

With this impressive performance, the UAE continues to establish itself as a leading force in regional beach sports.
