Sharjah24: In a notable addition to its Ramadan festivities, Al Qasimia University (AQU) recently organised a lecture entitled “Life Experience,” featuring the respected preacher Yasmin Al Hussary as the presenter. The session focused on the life and contributions of the late Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary,, whose legacy in serving and spreading the Holy Quran remains profound.

Esteemed Attendees

The event was attended by His Excellency Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, Prof. Awad Al Khalaf, Director of the University, along with vice directors, deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and students.

Honouring Sharjah’s Leadership

During her opening remarks, Yasmin Al-Hussary conveyed her pride in being part of Al Qasimia University and expressed her appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his significant contributions to the advancement of education and cultural awareness.

A Global Academic Hub

She emphasised that Al Qasimia University stands as an international academic institution, attracting students from more than 130 nationalities across the globe. The university is dedicated to developing scholars in the fields of Islamic studies, Arabic language, and humanities, while promoting principles of moderation and balance.

Sheikh Al-Hussary’s Legacy

In an interesting lecture, Yasmin Al Hussary recalled the remarkable journey of her father, Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary, a man who devoted his life to the service of the Holy Quran. In a groundbreaking achievement, he became the first individual to record the complete Quran in Hafs recitation. This significant milestone has since established an authoritative audio reference for Muslims around the globe.

Contributions to Quranic Studies

She highlighted his crucial contributions to the verification of Quranic manuscripts, his commitment to programs for memorising the Quran, and his initiatives in documenting Quranic recitations. His humanitarian and voluntary efforts significantly enhanced his contributions to the Islamic community.

Sharjah’s Quranic Vision

She commended the vision of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi in promoting Quranic sciences, evident in the founding of Al Qasimia University’s College of the Holy Quran, which stands as a prominent institution for Islamic studies on a global scale. Furthermore, she praised the establishment of the Sharjah Quranic Complex, an exceptional institution focused on the preservation and research of the Quran.

Guidance for Students

In her concluding remarks, Yasmin Al-Hussary provided insightful guidance to students regarding the memorisation and recitation of the Quran, emphasizing the significance of participating in charitable activities. She urged them to take inspiration from prominent individuals who dedicated their lives to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of their communities.

Honouring the Speaker
