SEDD discusses Development Operations within “Innovation Lab”

Likely, it falls within the Department’s concerns to use an integrated system of modern tools to improve the services and procedures in a way that works to transform government innovation into organised institutional work, and to come up with recommendations to enhance the mechanism for implementing the work and procedures followed in SEDD.

Involving employees

The workshop discussed a number of topics that aim to interact with employees, involve them in the process of exchanging opinions and views to present creative ideas and proposals on the best practices in making customers happy as well as facilitating the services provided. This thing is done with the goal to achieve a qualitative leap in the efficiency and quality of the services provided, to ensure a better experience to customers, and to reduce the time required to complete the Department’s transactions.

Improving work mechanisms

The workshop aims to develop a practical vision for how to improve work mechanisms in order to simplify and enhance the services provided, monitor proposals, opinions and ideas that support these objectives, as well as present determinants for developing and providing the best services. This will reflect the emirate’s position as a global city that provides the best and most advanced services in all areas and will serve its aspirations to adopt a culture of innovation and competitiveness at various levels.

Dr. Ahmed Al Ali, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Department at SEDD, illustrated that the department, through the workshop, adopts a strategic plan that seeks to apply innovation and creativity in all practices. He added that SEDD also seeks to attract national competencies that implement innovation concepts at work with the aim of providing qualitative solutions that contribute to improving services and enhancing the quality of life.

Supporting the business community

Furthermore, Al Ali stressed that SEDD is concerned with preparing and implementing the emirate’s economic plans, conducting studies, and creating supportive investment systems to facilitate business, and providing a suitable climate for investment by simplifying procedures for investors, in addition to providing latest developments and requirements of entrepreneurship to the business community.

Moreover, Al Ali clarified that organising such workshops fall within SEDD’s plans to develop a detailed study on the effectiveness of the services provided. This will help to reach developmental and improvement results that contribute to improving and facilitating the services provided to customers, reducing the time required to complete and obtaining such services, leading to adopting the best practices, which contributes to driving the economic and investment process in Sharjah.
