Sharjah24: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by the Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC), successfully concluded its official tour to France, the UK, and the Kingdom of Spain.
STDC’s delegation was headed by Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General of the Support Services Sector at the Sharjah Chamber, and included Amal Abdullah Al Ali, Director of STDC, along with Dr. Khaled Maqlad, Consultant for SMEs and Entrepreneurship Development at SCCI.
Signing of strategic partnerships
During the tour, STDC signed nine cooperation and strategic partnership agreements with prestigious universities, academic and training institutions, and prominent official entities across France, the UK, and Spain. Notable institutions involved include the Granada Chamber of Commerce’s School of Management, Kellogg College at the University of Oxford, Cambridge Training College Britain, and London Strategy Centre (LSC).
Objectives of the partnerships
These partnerships aim to facilitate the exchange of expertise, promote knowledge-sharing, and jointly develop innovative and globally accredited training and academic programs. The collaborations will focus on enhancing strategic leadership, business management practices, and executive leadership development.
Meetings with officials
During STDC’s visit to France, Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, UAE Ambassador to the French Republic, and Ahmed Almulla, Deputy Head of Mission at the UAE Embassy in Paris, welcomed the Sharjah Chamber delegation. The meeting provided an overview of the tour’s achievements and highlighted the significance of the newly established international partnerships.
Strengthening UK collaborations
Sheikh Khaled Al Qasimi, Deputy Chief of Mission at the UAE Embassy in London, along with Mansour Al Mansouri, Head of Economic Affairs Department at the UAE Embassy in the UK, also received the delegation. Discussions centered on strengthening strategic partnerships with leading UK-based academic and training institutions and ensuring the accreditation of training programs in line with European standards.
Engagements in Spain
In Spain, the Sharjah Chamber delegation met Ibrahim Ali Al Nuaimi, Head of Political, Media, and Public Diplomacy Affairs at the UAE Embassy in Madrid. They explored strategic opportunities for collaboration with Spanish training institutions, emphasizing the impact of these partnerships on enhancing leadership and management competencies.
Business meeting with the Arab-British Chamber
The delegation held a business meeting with the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce to explore future collaboration opportunities and strengthen trade ties between Sharjah and the UK. They discussed expanding impactful training initiatives that contribute to leadership development in key economic sectors.
Commitment to Internationally accredited training
Mariam Saif Al Shamsi reaffirmed the Sharjah Chamber’s commitment to strengthening STDC’s capabilities in delivering internationally accredited training programs. She highlighted the strategic objective of establishing STDC as a leading global hub for advanced training.
Ongoing efforts for global collaborations
Amal Abdullah Al Ali emphasised the strategic partnerships established during the tour, reinforcing the Centre’s ongoing efforts to strengthen global collaborations. In 2023, a fruitful collaboration with the School of Management at the Granada Chamber of Commerce led to the launch of the “Strategic Business Leadership” program.
Enhancing STDC’s capabilities
Dr. Khaled Maqlad stated that the partnerships signed with leading institutions mark a significant step in enhancing STDC’s capabilities. These collaborations will empower business leaders to refine their skills in strategic management and leadership development.
Upcoming training opportunities
The Sharjah Training and Development Centre has invited employees from both public and private sectors to participate in the second round of the Strategic Business Leadership Programme, scheduled to take place in Spain in April 2025.
