UAE and South Sudan discuss advancing bilateral cooperation

Sharjah 24 – WAM: On Saturday, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of South Sudan, who is currently on a working visit to the UAE.

Strengthening cooperation in key sectors

The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, focused on enhancing cooperation between the UAE and South Sudan. The two leaders discussed expanding ties in critical areas such as economy, investment, agriculture, renewable energy, and infrastructure—sectors key to sustainable economic growth and prosperity for both nations.

Exchange of views on mutual interests

The two sides also exchanged views on several important issues of mutual interest during their discussions.

The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State.
