The solar halo is a water-based light phenomenon that appears as a circle of light surrounding the sun. It results from the refraction and reflection of sunlight through ice crystals in high, thin clouds, known as "icy cumulus clouds" or "cirrus clouds." These clouds are typically found at altitudes of 8 to 16 km above sea level.
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, mentioned that the phenomenon was observed through the lens of photographer Tamim Al Tamimi, a member of the Society. The mesmerising display was captured beautifully by Al Tamimi.
