Iranian vice president visits Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Dr Shina Ansari, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of the Department of Environment, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by Reza Ameri, Iranian Ambassador to the UAE, and the accompanying delegation.

Exploring the Mosque's cultural message

During the visit, Dr Ansari was guided by Dr. Yousef Al-Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre. The delegation toured the mosque’s halls and exterior corridors, learning about its cultural message of coexistence, tolerance, and openness, which is inspired by the legacy and values of the UAE’s founding father.

Architectural beauty and Islamic art

The delegation was introduced to the mosque’s history, architecture, and the distinctive Islamic art adorning every corner. They explored the mosque’s unique collections and examples of Islamic civiliسation, showcasing a harmonious convergence of diverse artistic and architectural designs.

Presentation of gifts

At the conclusion of the visit, Dr Ansari received a piece of art inspired by the mosque’s architecture, featuring a Quranic verse in Kufic script. He was also presented with a copy of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace, a book highlighting the mosque’s architectural and artistic grandeur.
