The campaign was attended by Maryam Ismail Al Ali, Director of the Women’s Protection Centre, and Khaled Al Kathiri, Head of the Child Helpline Department, based on the principle of community participation and exchange of expertise between governmental and private institutions.
The SSSD, in cooperation with the Child Safety Department, plays a pivotal role in achieving comprehensive protection for children.
Joint efforts focus on providing a safe and stable environment that guarantees children’s rights and protects their dignity.
The two sides adopt an integrated system of initiatives and services that aim to address abuse in all its forms, whether physical, psychological or social. Through specialised teams, reports received via the hotline or dedicated channels are dealt with quickly and efficiently, to ensure urgent intervention and protection of affected children.
The SSSD stressed that its role is not limited to intervening when abuse occurs, but also includes spreading community awareness about the importance of protecting children, and cooperating with families, educational and health institutions to promote a culture of shared responsibility.
In this context, the "Helpline" and the "Trust Monitor" are effective tools that enhance the speed of response and enable the community to contribute to reporting cases that threaten the safety of children, and that achieving protection for children is not just an individual responsibility, but a collective commitment aimed at building a safer and more stable future for all children in society.
