The graduation ceremony, held at the Al Qasimia University Theatre in Sharjah, brought together graduates from the five colleges of the university: the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Economics and Administration, College of Communication, and the College of the Holy Quran.
The event began with the playing of the UAE national anthem and a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. His Excellency Jamal Salim Al Turaifi, President of Al Qasimia University, delivered an address in which he expressed sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah for his unwavering support of the university.
He highlighted that the university’s achievements and growth are a direct result of the leadership and vision of the Ruler of Sharjah.
Al Turaifi emphasised that the support provided by His Highness has enabled the university to thrive and reach significant milestones.
In his speech, Al Turaifi spoke about Al Qasimia University's rapid development and its confident strides toward becoming a globally recognised institution. He stated that the university is working towards occupying a distinguished position among higher education institutions worldwide.
Al Turaifi emphasised that the university offers a unique educational environment that blends modernity and tradition, making it one of the region's most diverse and culturally rich academic institutions. Al Qasimia University stands as a beacon of knowledge, where students from various nationalities and backgrounds come together to share ideas and foster cross-cultural understanding. He stressed that the university's diverse student body and inclusive teaching philosophy embody the values of tolerance and coexistence.
His Excellency Professor Dr Awad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, also addressed the audience, extending congratulations to the graduates and their families. Dr. Al-Khalaf took the opportunity to acknowledge the leadership of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, noting his continuous support of the university and its goals.
He further remarked that the institution has achieved impressive accomplishments in academic, research, and community service sectors, solidifying its position as a prestigious academic institution.
Dr Al-Khalaf spoke about the impressive growth of the university, mentioning that Al Qasimia University is now home to students from 128 different nationalities. This diversity, he noted, contributes to the university's global outlook and makes it a truly international institution. He also praised the university's role in providing a supportive and stimulating environment for students to thrive, underpinned by the teachings of moderate Islamic values that guide its educational programs.
Dr. Al-Khalaf highlighted several key achievements of the university during the academic year 2024-2025, particularly in the areas of curriculum development and international collaborations. One of the major milestones for the university this year was the accreditation of new master's programmes in Jurisprudence and Arabic Language and Literature. These programmes, approved by the Academic Accreditation Commission, reflect the university's commitment to expanding its academic offerings and ensuring the quality of education provided to its students.
Dr. Al-Khalaf stressed that the university’s continuous efforts to improve and innovate its academic programmes are part of its broader mission to prepare students who are capable of taking on leadership roles and making meaningful contributions to their societies.
