He expressed that this legacy is poised to renew impactful contributions to the advancement of human health.

Congratulations to Professor Yasmine Belkaid, winner of the Great Arab Minds Award in Medicine 2024

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated Professor Yasmine Belkaid, the winner of the 2024 Great Arab Minds Award in Medicine. Professor Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur in France, is recognised for her global achievements in scientific research and clinical studies in immunology, infectious diseases, microbiology, and tissue immunity.

Celebrating achievements in immunology

In his speech, Sheikh Mohammed praised Professor Belkaid's contributions, particularly her groundbreaking work on the role of microbes in enhancing immunity and disease prevention. He also noted that Professor Belkaid has published over 220 scientific papers on topics such as infection, immunity, microbiota, and nutrition.

Recognising the role of Arab scientists

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that the Arab region continues to produce world-class doctors and surgeons, underscoring the importance of recognising their achievements at the Arab level. He encouraged Arab youth to draw inspiration from these remarkable individuals and their relentless pursuit of success.

Minister Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi shares the news with professor Belkaid

During a video call, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Great Arab Minds Higher Committee, informed Professor Belkaid of her award. He commended her dedication to advancing medical research, noting that her work has made her a role model for youth both regionally and globally.
